I read a book recently with a premise that in the afterlike, when one accents to heaven, one will meet five people from one's life that will help one learn about why he/she lived, what Life meant, etc. The point of heaven, according to the book, is to understand that death is merely the real beginning of understanding about why we lived. The book was simple to read and read fast. The author broke loads of grammar rules, but when your book sells no one cares about that. It's a feelgood book, smaltzy in nature with some interesting descriptions and plot twists.
The one thing I have taken from it currently, and it does necessitate a second reading, is that you should not concern yourself with figuring things out, finding answers to big questions. Leave that for another time, another life, when there's plenty of time. Meanwhile simply live your life and try to use it in a good way, and that's enough. I like that. It's vague, it's idealistic, it's naive, but I like it.
